The BlackBerry® Certification Program validates the skills and knowledge you’ve gained when it comes to BlackBerry® products and services.

What Certifications are Offered?

BlackBerry Certifications are grouped according to specific roles in the various stages of BlackBerry deployment:

  • Plan and Design
  • Manage and Monitor
  • Support and Troubleshoot

Who Can Get Certified?

The BlackBerry Certification Program is open to everyone, from BlackBerry customers to employees of service providers.

How Do I Get Certified?

To get certified, you must register for and take exams at one of Prometric's Testing Centers, which are available at over 3,000 locations around the world. Exams are 1.5 hours and cost $150 USD. Beta exams, indicated by exam codes that start with BCX, are four hours long.

Plan and Design

BlackBerry Certified Solution Designer

The BlackBerry® Certified Solution Designer certification is designed for technical professionals who provide pre- and post-sales technical consulting services to BlackBerry customers.

Required Exams

  • One exam related to administering the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
  • One exam related to designing and deploying BlackBerry solutions

When taking either of the above exams, you will have the opportunity to test on the platform of your choice: Microsoft® Exchange, IBM® Lotus® Domino® or Novell® GroupWise®.

BlackBerry Certified System Administrator

The Certified BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator certification is designed for technical professionals who install, configure and manage BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software in an enterprise environment.

Required Exams

  • One exam focused on maintaining a BlackBerry Enterprise Server in the platform of your choice: Microsoft® Exchange, IBM® Lotus® Domino® or Novell® GroupWise®

Choose the BlackBerry Certified Support Specialist option if you support BlackBerry smartphone end-users in a BlackBerry® Internet Service or enterprise environment.

  • One exam on supporting BlackBerry smartphones in either a BlackBerry Internet Service or Enterprise Environment

Where can I register for a certification exam?

Visit  www.prometric.com/blackberry and click on “Schedule, Register, Cancel or Confirm an Exam”

Where can I find my nearest testing location?

Prometric has over 3000 testing sites across the world. To find your nearest testing location, please visit www.prometric.com/blackberry, and select “Locate a Testing Center”

Can I achieve certification if I pass a beta exam?

Yes! Completing and passing the beta exam will grant you with the same credit toward certification as a live exam. One of the benefits of beta testing is that you will achieve certification before anyone else!

What kind of training material is available for the certification exams?

Each exam will have its own Self Study Guide that will be related to each exam. At the moment, we are in the process of releasing Self Study Guides for every certification exam. We currently looking to release the Self Study Guide for exam BCP-410, as well as launching the Self Study Guide for exam BCP-210 in coming months.

What is the cost for each exam?

Each exam attempt costs USD$150. To see the conversion to your own currency, please visit Prometric’s website and select “Exam Fees”.

Which exam is right for me?

Each exam reflects real life tasks a person working in a BlackBerry environment will perform. To determine which exams best suits the career path you wish to embark, please review the BlackBerry Certification Program guide.

What is a beta exam?

The BlackBerry Certification Program currently offers beta versions – exam codes starting with BCX – of exams to provide you with the opportunity to attempt a new BlackBerry® certification exam before it is released to the general public. A beta exam will consist of approximately 150-200 questions to be completed over 4 hours. BlackBerry certification beta exams will be available to anyone who wishes to participate. Candidates will be asked to answer all of the questions that may be used in the final exam. If beta candidates pass the beta exam, they will credit toward the relevant BlackBerry certification(s). Beta candidates will not receive their results immediately as beta results go under extensive analysis to determine the final pool of items and to establish the passing score.

How do I become a beta participant?

To be added to the pool of potential beta candidates, please email certification@blackberry.com with the certification streams/exams of interest. Note: due to the demand for beta exams, you may not receive an invitation to all exams of interest.

How long will it take to receive my certification package after I passed my exam?

Postal delivery may take 8 to 10 weeks, depending on your location.
