If you did not purchase BlackBerry® software or smartphones directly from Research In Motion (RIM), please contact your service provider to determine if the software distributed by RIM is authorized for use with your smartphone.

Available Software

 

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software

If you have BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, download the latest service packs and maintenance releases, as well as the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Resource Kit, BlackBerry MDS Services, BlackBerry® MDS Runtime and BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System.

You can also log in to the BlackBerry Expert Support Center to download the full version of the latest BlackBerry Enterprise Server if you are a BlackBerry® Technical Support Services subscriber.

Service Packs

A service pack is a software release that contains product updates that include fixes for identified issues and feature enhancements. They are bundled separately for the four product variants: BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for Microsoft® Exchange, BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for Novell® GroupWise®, BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for IBM® Lotus® Domino® and BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for MDS Applications.

Maintenance Releases

There are two types of Maintenance Releases (MR): Hotfixes and Rollups.

Rollup
A Rollup is an installable piece of software that contains a small set of fixes released according to a predefined interval schedule. A Rollup can be expected to be released approximately six weeks after the date the previous maintenance release was posted. Rollups are purposed like a Hotfix, but are intended to get important fixes to customers in a predictive manner.

Hotfix
A Hotfix is also an installable piece of software that contains fixes for identified defects or potential security vulnerabilities in the product. Because of the often urgent and reactive nature of a Hotfix, a predictive release schedule is not followed. A Hotfix can be released for specific customer types or pertain to only one specific product variant. Before you download and install a Hotfix, it’s recommended that you read the Hotfix release notes to see whether a particular Hotfix applies to your environment and addresses an issue important to your organization’s deployment of BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit provides BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrators with tools to help monitor, analyze, administer and report on BlackBerry Enterprise Server operations. These tools can help you obtain per day and per user statistics, check for users who are out of wireless network coverage, track messages pending delivery in BlackBerry Enterprise Server and more.

BlackBerry MDS Services for BlackBerry Enterprise Server

BlackBerry MDS Services are components of BlackBerry Enterprise Server that handle requests from BlackBerry® smartphones and manage interactions with enterprise applications and systems. BlackBerry MDS Services for Web Services is a download for BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.0. It is required to support Web Service systems-based applications developed with BlackBerry® MDS Studio.

BlackBerry MDS Runtime

BlackBerry MDS Runtime is smartphone software that provides runtime services for applications developed with BlackBerry MDS Studio.

BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections

BlackBerry® Client for IBM® Lotus® Connections takes the features and functionality of IBM® Lotus® Connections to BlackBerry smartphones. With BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections, access features including Profiles and Dogears and collaborate with other connected professionals in your enterprise organization directly from your BlackBerry smartphone.

BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager

It allows users to manage and configure their BlackBerry® smartphones to receive messages, in addition to performing a variety of maintenance-related tasks. BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager is available with the download of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server v5.0.

BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager is specifically designed for organizations that would prefer not to deploy and install client-based BlackBerry Desktop Manager software on all BlackBerry user workstations.

BlackBerry Professional Software

BlackBerry® Professional Software is a wireless communications and collaboration solution designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses. It provides wireless access to email, organizer, business data, the Internet and more via BlackBerry® smartphones. At the same time, it provides advanced security features and centralized control from an easy-to-use management console.

BlackBerry Professional Software can be installed on an existing server, such as Microsoft® Exchange or IBM® Lotus® Domino®. No additional hardware is required.

BlackBerry Sales Client for SAP CRM
