DISA's new STIG moves BlackBerry® solutions beyond email and PIM. Sanctioned applications include all MDS-based applications, Docs2Go, IM, and WiFi® configuration. DISA notes additional anti-virus protection isn’t needed due to BlackBerry solutions inherent security.

BlackBerry Service in Iraq and Afghanistan
BlackBerry service in Iraq and Afghanistan is now available from wireless carriers Zain Iraq and Roshan. The data service-only plans work with any GSM SIM-unlocked BlackBerry smartphone.
