Overview
Like all public safety organizations, your office is under pressure to improve responsiveness and service to the public on a limited budget. Meeting that challenge is easier when your people have immediate access to the critical information they need to make informed decisions and resolve issues quickly. BlackBerry® Business Solutions can connect your personnel and officials to the colleagues, communications and information they depend on.
BlackBerry Business Solutions offer a complete wireless solution that provides the hardware, software and services that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of public safety organizations, including law enforcement agencies, fire departments, border and transportation security agencies, emergency management departments and more.
Your field personnel can gain timely wireless access to:
- APBs and amber alerts
- Dispatch information and incident reports
- Criminal databases and updated photos of suspects
- Emergency response procedures
- Phone
- Calendar and address book
By keeping in touch with colleagues and accessing information while mobile, public safety personnel can increase their responsiveness, make informed decisions and enhance their mobility.
Law enforcement officers
Using third-party applications* on their BlackBerry® smartphones, law enforcement officers can conduct criminal database queries without having to radio a dispatcher, increasing their speed of decision making. They can also receive assignments and other critical emergency response information on their BlackBerry smartphones. Computer-aided dispatch systems deployed on BlackBerry smartphones support collaboration and interoperability between different law enforcement jurisdictions.

Partner Solutions
Mobilize your business with the help of over 300 BlackBerry® Alliance Members that build out-of-the-box and custom enterprise applications*. Below is a list of some of the members serving the public safety sector.
ATS Voyager Technology
ATS Voyager Technology provides law enforcement agencies with secure, wireless access to federal, NCIC, state and local agency databases using any BlackBerry® smartphone. Standard queries include wants and warrants checks and driving record searches in both state and federal databases. Motor vehicle searches query the FBI's NCIC stolen vehicle system and DMV databases in the vehicle's home state for registration and citation information. Serial numbers relating to firearms and other categories of property can be checked against the NCIC stolen property system. Searches into public records data provide personal identification information verifying address history, identity and property ownership.
BIO-key PocketCop
PocketCop® from BIO-key is the first handheld application for mobile law enforcement that is part of a fully integrated mobile data system, providing mobile users with access to criminal database queries, secure messaging and alarm capabilities—access to critical information, virtually anytime, anywhere. PocketCop offers the freedom of portability without compromise—incorporating robust features and scalability to accommodate growth. Public safety personnel with duty assignments outside of vehicles require the same reliable and confidential access to mission critical information, such as queries to NCIC, NLETS and DMV and secure communication, as their in-vehicle counterparts. PocketCop on the BlackBerry smartphone meets that need with a cost-effective wireless device solution.
GTBM Info-Cop
Info-Cop™ from Gold Type Business Machines, Inc. (GTBM) is one of the most secure, intuitive, high speed public safety criminal database query and messaging tools available. GTBM has taken security to the highest level for law enforcement in the field by implementing AES-256 RSA encryption in its software for the BlackBerry smartphone. The new Info-Cop™ encryption level marks the first time police agencies will have access to a cipher approved by the National Security Agency (NSA) for top-secret information. Law enforcement officials can now be assured of convenient, discreet access to their most critical data.
OnPatrol
OnPatrol enables police officers using BlackBerry smartphones to securely query national police databases (CPIC and NCIC) and access information in dispatch and records management systems. OnPatrol allows the user to receive digital dispatches from the dispatch system, send and receive messages, query motor vehicle databases and more. The OnPatrol application allows police mobile users and undercover officers to have the same access to critical police information as officers in cars equipped with much more expensive mobile computers. OnPatrol enhances their security and offers virtual real-time access to critical information to make them more effective and efficient.
