BlackBerry Professional Software can be installed on your existing Microsoft® Exchange or IBM® Lotus® Domino® email server—so there’s no need to purchase additional hardware.

A set-up wizard streamlines the installation process. Configuration is simplified, but you can set up customized settings and policies if you need them.

Control Over Your Smartphones

BlackBerry Professional Software also provides your organization with hands-on control over its BlackBerry smartphones:

  • Browser use — Disable the BlackBerry smartphone browser, or prevent access to certain sites
  • Phone — Limit long-distance calling to certain employees or certain numbers
  • Data back-ups — Enforce back-ups of data at intervals defined by you

Expanding Your Deployment

As your business grows, you can easily add BlackBerry smartphone users by purchasing additional Client Access Licenses (CALs) or an update kit.

Up to 30 users
When you’re ready to add more users to your BlackBerry Professional Software, you can purchase additional CALs—up to a maximum of 30 total users. BlackBerry Professional Software supports BlackBerry® Enterprise Server CALs and is backward compatible with BlackBerry® Enterprise Server – Small Business Edition CALs.

Beyond 30 users
To expand your deployment beyond 30 users, you can update to BlackBerry Enterprise Server by purchasing a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Trade-up Key. You can purchase the update key through your wireless service provider or online from the BlackBerry Store.

Updating from BlackBerry Enterprise Server – Small Business Edition

If your organization already uses BlackBerry Enterprise Server – Small Business Edition, you can update for free to BlackBerry Professional Software. The process is the same as adding a service pack. Download the BlackBerry Professional Software service pack
