Syncing your device
Never miss an important message or appointment again by syncing your desktop inbox and calendar with your BlackBerry® smartphone.
- Download BlackBerry® Desktop Manager onto your computer
- Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable
- Click Synchronize on BlackBerry Desktop Manager
- Select the data you would like to synchronize with your device

Backing Up and Restoring Your Device
Backing Up Your Device
Take precaution against unexpected crashes or downtime by protecting important information and documents stored on your BlackBerry® smartphone.
- Connect your device to your computer and open BlackBerry® Desktop Manager
- Double-click Backup and Restore
- Select Backup to perform a full backup or select Advanced to perform a backup of specific databases.
- Choose a location to save the backup file, and then click save.
Memorable pictures, important contacts and vital documents are now saved in a secondary location, so that should anything happen to your device, all your important files remain intact.
Restoring Your Device
Restore and retrieve lost data, information and files on your BlackBerry smartphone in the event of an unexpected crash.
- Connect your device to your computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager
- Double-click Backup and Restore
- Select Restore to open a file locator on your desktop computer
- Locate and select the files on your desktop computer and transfer them onto your BlackBerry smartphone.
All the important files and documents that you backed up on your desktop computer have now been transferred onto your device with the source files still remaining on your desktop.
