System Requirements for BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.5
To install BlackBerry® Desktop Software v4.5, you'll need to meet the minimum system requirements listed below.
Hardware Requirements
- An Internet/email-enabled computer
- One available USB or serial port
- The Microsoft® Windows® Operating System in one of these versions:
- With a USB port: Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista™ including x64 bit support
- With a serial port: Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista
- Optional Bluetooth® connection on computer with Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher
Organizer Support
- Lotus Notes® 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 8.0
- MS Outlook® 2002, 2003, 2007
- MS Outlook Express 6, Windows Contacts (Vista Address Book)

Migrating Data
When migrating data to a new BlackBerry smartphone using the Switch Device wizard, the smartphone you are replacing must have one of the following software versions:
- Smartphone or PocketPC running Windows® Mobile 2000, 2002, 2003, 2003 SE, 5.0, 2005 or 6.0.
- Palm® Treo™ smartphone using Palm Desktop Software 4.0.1, 4.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.4, 4.1.4e, or 6.01.
For Enterprise Integration with BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
- Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2003, XP (Corporate or Workgroup Installation), and Outlook 2007, IBM® Lotus Notes 5.0.6, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 8.0 (for enterprise email integration) or Novell GroupWise version 6.5 Service Pack 4
- Email account on a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5SP4, 2000, 2003, IBM Lotus® Domino® Server version 5.0.3 or later (for enterprise email integration) or Novell GroupWise Server version 6.5 Service Pack 1 or later
