2For BlackBerry Media Sync to work your media enabled BlackBerry smartphone must be connected to your computer via a USB cable. Certain music files may not be supported by the media player, including incompatible file types and files that contain digital rights management technologies.
3BlackBerry Media Sync is compatible with devices featuring BlackBerry Device software v4.2 or higher. Devices that do not feature built-in mass storage capabilities (significant amounts of on-board memory) will require a microSD card to be properly inserted. This includes the BlackBerry® 8100 Series, the BlackBerry® 8300 Series and the BlackBerry 8800 Series.
4Media Sync is compatible with 32-bit editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 which can be used with iTunes version 7.0 or higher AND 32-bit editions of Windows Vista which can be used with iTunes version 7.2 or higher. Not compatible Windows 2000 or with MAC OS.

Migrating Data
When migrating data to a new BlackBerry smartphone using the Switch Device wizard, the smartphone you are replacing must have one of the following software versions:
- Smartphone or Pocket PC running Windows® Mobile 2000, 2002, 2003, 2003 SE, 5.0, 2005 or 6.0.
- Palm® Treo™ smartphone using Palm Desktop Software 4.0.1, 4.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.4, 4.1.4e, or 6.01.
For Enterprise Integration with BlackBerry® Enterprise Server
- Microsoft® Exchange, Microsoft® Outlook® 2000, 2003, XP or 2007 (corporate or workgroup installation) with an email account on a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 Service Pack 4 or later that can receive messages from the Internet
- IBM® Lotus Notes® 5.0.6 or later with an email account on an IBM® Lotus® Domino® Server version 5.03 or later (5.0.12 or later recommended) that can receive messages from the Internet
- Novell® GroupWise® version 6.5 Service Pack 4 with an email account on a GroupWise® server version 6.5 Service Pack 1 or later that can receive messages from the Internet
