Business Challenge
Computer Science students needed to build a mobile application to complete a National Child Seat Safety Survey at 200 intersections across Canada so the results could be quickly sent to an analytical database for rapid and accurate data analysis.
Solution
- A custom, web-based application was created in-house using the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server the University already had in place
- BlackBerry® smartphones are now used to complete the surveys, which are automatically sent to a database so the results can be analyzed
Results
- Leverages existing technology
- Less time to complete surveys
- More robust data
- Can be applied to other uses
