XL Expands Retail Network to Support BlackBerry Smartphone Sales in Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia - In order to enhance its service to BlackBerry® smartphone customers, PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (XL) has expanded its XL Xperience Land network, a series of dedicated retail stores solely for BlackBerry smartphones and services. The concept of XL Xperience Land network was first introduced in April with the opening of a store in Pacific Place, Jakarta. A new, second store is now opened at XL Center at Menara Rajawali and the official opening was conducted by XL’s Director of Commerce, Joy Wahyudi.

From now until the end of 2009, XL plans to open 24 Xperience Land stores in various cities.  This month, in addition to the store at the Menara Rajawali, XL will open XL Xperience Land stores in Sawah Besar in Jakarta, Karawaci in Tangerang and Delta Plaza in Surabaya.

“BlackBerry smartphones have become very popular among our customers. Due to the rapid growth and high demand, we have developed the concept of XL Xperience Land and are very glad to open a new XL Xperience Land store at XL Center. The new store will aim to provide an enhanced sales and after-sales experience to BlackBerry smartphone users,“ said Wahyudi.

Customers will be able to enjoy a one-stop solution for their BlackBerry smartphone at XL Xperience Land stores. They can try and purchase from a wide range of BlackBerry smarpthones, services and accessories and download applications.

Warranty and insurance protection for BlackBerry smartphones from XL
In addition, XL is offering a warranty and insurance package* for BlackBerry smartphone users. These will come as value-added benefits to select customers who purchase and activate their BlackBerry smarpthone at XL Xperience Land stores.

The XL Xperience Land stores will also continue to provide the existing services, such as a selection of affordable service tariffs and the innovative daily BlackBerry 1 data plan at Rp 5,000. XL has recently launched XL Mall to all BlackBerry smartphone users. XL Mall is a centralized hub on handsets for customers to download interesting contents.

“We anticipate BlackBerry smartphones and services will continue to experience a significant growth in Indonesia. At XL, we are seeing excellent growth in the last six months. XL has added bandwidth capacity to cater the needs for increasing demand of data traffic,” concluded Wahyudi.
