Royal Bank of Scotland Deploys uKAS™ Out-of-the-Box and Custom Features
New York, NY - unplugin™ provides an innovative suite of products and services that enable enterprises to extend the reach of their systems and data to wireless devices.
The Royal Bank of Scotland has selected the unplugin Knowledge Access Server™ to be deployed in the New York office. Initially the Messaging Data Center was responsible for the initial evaluation and testing of unplugin™'s revolutionary wireless software. Once testing was complete the bank rolled the product out to the executive management team as well as their traders.
Initially the bank's staff is using the uKAS™ to access and view email attachments from their wireless BlackBerry devices. They are also using uKAS's uLink™ feature which allows a wireless user to view the text within a website without access to an online service. As part of the initial rollout users are also able to locate and read electronic documents on the bank's file server from their wireless device.
unplugin™ is currently developing a custom tool to enhance uKAS's out-of-the-box capabilities. The custom tool will allow bank staff members to access an Excel spreadsheet, which incorporates financial data from a live Reuter's feed. When a user accesses the spreadsheet they will receive a near-real-time snapshot of the data current Reuter's data from their wireless device. This information is critical to traders who are often out of the office. With the installation of the custom uKAS interface bank traders can wirelessly view the Reuter's data from their BlackBerry device anytime, anywhere.
