The latest version of the BlackBerry® Java® Plug-in for Eclipse® v1.1, Beta 2, includes an updated Eclipse® Software Update for the BlackBerry SDK v5.0 Beta 5. The Eclipse Software Update includes updated APIs, including the OpenGL API.
The BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse v1.1 Beta 2 improves the development cycle. With the next version of the BlackBerry® JDE Plug-in for Eclipse®, the name of the tool is being changed to the BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse v1.1. The new name makes it easier to find and use the BlackBerry Application Platform tools.
The BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse is an Eclipse plug-in that improves productivity by providing an integrated BlackBerry smartphone specific development, debugging and simulation workflow. The BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse has been updated to fit better within the Eclipse environment, making it easier for you to develop in Eclipse.
This release increases productivity by integrating with time-saving Eclipse features and offering a getting started page and the ability to target multiple BlackBerry OSs in a single workspace, which improves the development cycle.

Note: The tool is supported on Windows® XP or Windows Vista™ (32-bit), but isn’t currently supported for 64-bit operating systems and Windows 7.

Installing Eclipse Updates
Use the update site to download and install the components directly into an Eclipse install. To see available components, add the following URL into the Eclipse update manager: http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.5/java

Technical Requirements
- Eclipse IDE for Java Developers v3.5.0
- Windows XP or Windows Vista 32-bit
- Monitor with a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher
- PC with Intel® Pentium® 4 processor or compatible (3 GHz or higher, 1GB RAM, 1.5GB HD)
- Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition v6.0 (1.6.0_10 or higher)
Note: 64-bit operating systems and Windows 7 aren't currently supported.
