The BlackBerry® Web Development Plug-in for Eclipse® is a new addition to the web development tooling products. This product is seamlessly integrated with Eclipse® 3.4. It allows a web developer to debug browser-based applications and content for the BlackBerry smartphone and provides the ability to profile code and increase efficiency by using Eclipse in a familiar manner.
The BlackBerry Web Development Plug-in for Eclipse also facilitates remote web development, debugging and profiling. Included with the plug-in is a BlackBerry smartphone simulator to assist web developers in testing their content immediately.

Simulator
- BlackBerry® Bold™ smartphone simulator now included as the default simulator for web projects in the IDE package

- Eclipse: Eclipse 3.4.1, EMF 2.4.1, WTP 3.0.3
- Java®: Java 1.6
- Installing Eclipse Updates: Use the update site to download and install the components directly into an Eclipse install. To see available components, add the following URL into the Eclipse update manager: http://www.blackberry.com/developers/webeclipse. Download and install the BlackBerry® MDS Simulator for connectivity or other simulators for use with the tool
Note: The minimum OS versions to target for the BlackBerry Web Development Plug-in for Eclipse are v4.6.0.212, v4.6.1.132 and v4.7.0.80. The BlackBerry Web Development Plug-in for Eclipse will be posted on the BlackBerry® JDE Plug-in for Eclipse® Update Site soon.
