BlackBerry Smart Card Drivers

Smart card drivers allow the BlackBerry® Smart Card Reader to communicate with various smart cards. The drivers must be installed on all BlackBerry® smartphones that are used with the BlackBerry Smart Card Reader.

Note:BlackBerry Device Software versions that are not listed below come with the latest Smart Card Drivers pre-installed. If a driver for your smart card is not listed on this page, you can write a driver for your smart card utilizing the BlackBerry JDE. Please consult the BlackBerry JDE Smart Card Driver Development Guide.

 

Wireless download and installation from BlackBerry.com:

The Common Access Card (CAC), Personal Identity Verification (PIV) and SafeNet smart card drivers for BlackBerry device software versions 4.0.x, 4.1.x and 4.2.x can be downloaded and installed wirelessly to your BlackBerry smartphone.  To install the drivers wirelessly, navigate to this page (http://www.blackberry.com/go/smartcarddrivers) on your BlackBerry smartphone’s browser and click the appropriate link below.

Common Access Card Drivers for BlackBerry Device Software Versions 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2 

Personal Identity Verification (PIV) drivers for BlackBerry Device Software Version 4.1 and 4.2.

Note: Wireless installation of the PIV card drivers is not possible for 4.0.x. Please use the local BlackBerry Desktop Manager deployment method outlined below.
